Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and tamago, a sole-trader brand: the business name a sole proprietor trades under, not a registered company (“tamago”, “we”). By using the tamago API or website you accept them.

1. The service

tamago is an API that computes the anti-bot payloads Akamai Bot Manager and Imperva Incapsula ask a browser for. You send us the challenge script; we return the payload. To answer your call, we make no request to the website. Every request you make to that website is yours, and so is responsibility for it.

Anti-bot vendors change their systems without notice. A payload that works today can stop working until we update tamago. We do not promise that a website will accept any request you make.

2. Accounts and keys

Accounts are opened by invitation, after a person reviews what you are building. We may refuse an account without giving a reason. One person or company holds one account.

Keep your API keys secret. You are responsible for every call made with them. If a key leaks, write to support@tamagoapi.com and we will revoke it.

3. Acceptable use

Use tamago only for your own automation, against the websites you told us about when your account was opened, and only where you are allowed to. You may not use tamago for any abusive or illegitimate purpose, including:

  • account takeover or credential stuffing, or any access to an account that is not yours;
  • checkout abuse: card testing, fraudulent orders, or paying with cards or accounts that are not yours;
  • any other fraud, including click fraud and payment fraud;
  • flooding or attacking a website, or any denial of service;
  • reselling access to tamago, or sharing your keys outside your own organisation;
  • creating, storing or sharing child sexual abuse material;
  • anything that breaks the law where you or the website operate.

You may not let anyone else use tamago for these purposes either.

You are responsible for the websites you target and for having the right to automate them. You will cover our losses from claims caused by your use of tamago.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are on the pricing page. tamago is paid for in advance: you top up a prepaid balance, and each successful call spends from it. A call your balance cannot pay for is refused. Balance has no cash value and cannot be transferred.

Orders paid through Paddle are conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for those orders, and it handles their payment and issues their receipts.

Where we offer it, you can pay by card through Stripe instead. For those orders, tamago is the seller, and Stripe only processes the card payment for us. Stripe is not the Merchant of Record.

5. Refunds

  • A call that does not succeed is never charged.
  • Balance you have spent is not refundable.
  • Unspent balance from a top-up is refundable on request within 14 days of that top-up.
  • After 14 days, unspent balance stays on your account and does not expire, but it is no longer refundable.
  • None of this limits the rights you have by law as a consumer.

The refund policy says how to ask. Please write to us before disputing a charge.

6. Suspension and ending

If you break these terms, we may suspend your account or revoke your keys, without notice. We may also do so while a payment dispute on your account is open. Ending your access does not take your unspent balance; write to us about it.

You can stop using tamago at any time.

7. Liability

tamago is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the claim.

8. Changes and law

We may change these terms. We will tell customers before a change that affects them takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of the country where the sole trader who runs tamago is based. We will name that country on request.
